Ingredients For This Recipe
1 inside round or sirloin tip steak-cost about $6

1/3 yellow sweet pepper cut in little cubes
1/3 red sweet pepper cut in little cubes
1 tablespoon steak seasoning
sprinkle of salt
Make Your Steak Deli Sandwich

Cut the steak into thin strip pieces, and small cubed pieces. Then, place in the frypan with the sliced peppers and onion and cook on medium high heat until well done.
Season with the steak seasoning and tad salt while cooking.
For the bun use a baquette bun: buy either a stick baquette and cut into smaller buns or smaller baquette style bun. For this recipe I bought the Mrs Dunsters Deli buns
at Walmart for about $3 Canadian, which are already cut and they are very good.
Toast your bun - turn oven to Low Broil mode, then place the bun face up on foil on a flat pizza like tray in the oven. Keep a close eye on the bun as the broil mode
can toast them quite quickly. Remove from the oven and add mayo or your preferred condiment to the bun.
Put the cooked steak into your bun and choose your wine.

Choose Your Wine
Because we are eating steak, we can choose a red wine for pairing. Our steak is more lean than fatty(once cooked) so a light or medium red wine would be the best match.
If we were eating a succulent t-bone steak; medium rare or rare cooked with lots of fat, then a bold red wine would be a better choice, but for our well cooked steak for
this deli sandwich recipe, light to medium reds are ideal.
For light reds, Pinot Noir or Gamay are good choices. For medium reds - Garnache or Garnacha from Spain are good pairings. Merlot wines, Zinfandel wines, also good selections for
medium bodied wines.
For our steak sandwich recipe we chose a Zinfandel made in USA; Dancing Bull Zinfandel with notes of Jammy(Cherry), Spice, Vanilla. This wine is noted as Jammy, meaning it is low in tannins and
because it has low tannins it has a more fruity taste, and it is very good. This wine is priced at $15 in Halifax liquor stores.
