Gewurz Wines
Gewurz wines, aka - gewurztraminer, is a distinctly flavoured grape with rich floral aromas and lychee. They have a low acidity. Like many wine grapes, France is their original home; in the popular Alsace region, where clay and limestone soils produce the best Gewurz wines in the world. Although Alsace doesn't have many vineyards devoted to this unique grape, it makes both white wine and very sweet late harvest wines, known as 'vendage tardive'.Wine Types/Style
This wine grows best in cool climate wine regions like those found in Canada, New Zealand, Chile, USA, and Germany. It is a full body type of wine with low to medium acidity, and rich aromas. Compared to other wines, it is similar to Moscato, and sweeter than a Riesling wine. Gewurz is made in a dry and off dry style. Most Gerwurz wines have alcohol content of 11%-14%.This wine goes well with spicy and asian foods.
